Cardiological Examination-FSA Certificate
The FSA cardiological examination certificate for the diagnosis of hereditary cardiac diseases is released after an accurate cardiac examination following the guidelines from the “national observatory for the diagnosis of cardiac diseases of dogs and cats”.
The cardiac examination in dogs and cats is performed in order to prevent the transmission of confirmed or supposed hereditary heart diseases, for example pulmonic stenosis, subaortic stenosis, patent ductus arteriosus, dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. So, it is highly advised to perform such examination in all breeding dogs.
The cardiac examination takes about 45 minutes and it is based on an accurate cardiac auscultation, a complete Doppler echocardiography in an awake animal, as well as, in selected cases, a surface electrocardiogram and Holter monitoring. All these exams do not determine any significant discomfort to the patient.
The certificate is International and it is written in Italian as well as in English.
